Advancing AI and Security – Lessons from the Frontlines
REYKJAVÍK, ICELAND – As artificial intelligence continues to redefine the global security landscape, the University of Iceland (HI) is proud to host a high-level side event, "AI and Security: Related Aspects," on the afternoon of the IHPC '25 workshop. The event will take place at Gróska, Fenjamýri, from 14:00 to 16:00 and is open to everyone.
This session offers a rare opportunity to bridge academic research with real-world crisis management. The centerpiece of the agenda is an hour-long deep dive into "Building an Agentic State," featuring Oleh Dubno and Olha Kozub from the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation. They will share critical insights into Ukraine’s firsthand experience with practical AI adoption and the rapid deployment of digital defenses.
The program further explores technical resilience and innovation, with Thomas Edward Welsh discussing Resilient Adaptive Software, followed by a presentation from Morris Riedel on cutting-edge Research with AI Systems for Drones.
This event serves as a vital forum for experts, researchers, and policy makers to discuss the ethical and tactical implications of AI in modern security. Space is limited for this exclusive IHPC side event. Join us for an afternoon of rigorous discussion and international knowledge exchange.
